A majestic Siberian Argali embroidered pillow.

This ram is a type of mountain sheep. Some people refer to them as a “bighorn.”

The original inspiration image is titled, “Siberian Argali.”

The side panels and back have use a wonderful fabric with elk, grizzlies, and majestic mountains. If you were look for a Dall Sheep, you might consider this majestic sheep instead. This masculine pillow would be look great in any cabin or man cave.

This pillow would be a great asset for the professional real estate agent staging upscale homes and cabins.

The original artwork that this Argali ram is based upon comes from a book called, “Wild Oxen, Sheep, & Goats of All Lands,” by Richard Lydekker, F.R.S.

Richard Lydekker (1841–1915) was an English naturalist and geologist. His book, "Wild Oxen, Sheep, & Goats of All Lands" — published in 1898 — is now in the public domain.

The plate for this image is 225. For your reference, this image is shown as the fifth photo in the photos above.

Argali are the largest species of wild sheep. At the time of publication, this particular ram was described by Lydekker as a Siberian Argali. At this time, the subspecies of Argali are:

  • Altai argali,
  • Karaganda argali,
  • Gobi argali,
  • Tibetan argali,
  • North China argali,
  • Tian Shan argali,
  • Kara Tau argali,
  • Marco Polo argali,
  • Severtzov argali.

(So, the names of the Argali species have changed somewhat since then.)

In the near future, John will digitize the Tibetan and Marco Polo Argali as well.

Notice how the layering of the multiple thread colors in this design correctly represent the 3D shading of the ram's body. (To accomplish this, this design takes hours to run, and has many thread color changes.) This embroidery design is truly striking. The digitized animal looks very much like the original.

Note: this is the very first sample we ran of this design. In the future, we will use a slightly different thread color on the highlights of the rack. Even though the rack is slightly darker than the original, this is truly a beautiful pillow.

The pillow size is approximately 12" x 16" x 4". Inside the pillow is a new, soft, high quality pillow insert.

John researched and digitized the design and Beth did the embroidery. Beth uses great computerized embroidery and sewing machines for the bulk of the work, then hand sews the final side shut.

Again, this is our first product using this new design.

Of course, we can put our designs on totes, sweatshirts and other embroidable items as well. This bighorn will look very nice on sweatshirts. (John can't wait to have his own sweatshirt with this design.)

When we ship your pillows, we place them in an extra large ziplock bag, and then in a new, high quality shipping box. Your new pillows will be well protected during shipping.
